Andorra & Roquefeuil, France
A quick break (4 days) over Andorra to Roquefeuil to retrieve ski gear from Sue’s french place, see a few friends and then a days’ skiing in Andorra on the way back to Barcelona.
Having found a cheap car hire place for our day trip to Girona, we returned to OK Mobility car hire and spent a grand total of 26 euros (A$40) on a 4 day car hire…(yes you read that right!) …to get us out of Barcelona, pick up ski clothes and some DIY tools from Sue’s place, catch up with some friends and then head back via Andorra again to do some skiing.
Andorra la Vella was reeaaallly busy so we found a tucked away mountainside 50euro/night hotel (Hotel Camp del Serrat). With an overnight temperature of -9 outside we were keen to tuck into our pizza and wine, purely for medicinal health purposes of course.
The following day we headed over into France, Roquefueil to ‘Chez Sue’ to retrieve her ski gear and catch up with local campsite owner and good friend, Olivier.

After a walk up the local Pic du Midi (1000m) we headed on over to friends Gary and Anni’s for a lovely evening of fun, friends and great food and wine.
The next morning, after completing a few administrative tasks at the BNP bank in Limoux, we headed back to Andorra to prepare our ski lift pass (Grandvalira - 56 euros/day pass) and hire for the next day.
Awesome weather, good snow and no queues at the lifts all adds up to an a great day out on the slopes before the long drive home to Barcelona.
